Coronavirus Deep Learning Competition

Winners Announced!

Machine Learning for Human Health

The Coronavirus Deep Learning Competition is an initiative hosted by Sage Health, an organization with a mission to help treat, prevent, & cure all human disease by the end of the 21st century. It was founded in February 2020 by Siraj Raval and Dr. John Billings. We plan on assisting healthcare providers in both volunteer and paid projects, involving our growing community in as many related initiatives as possible every step of the way. This Coronavirus Competition is our first initiative, and we'll be donating samples of the winning compound to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for further analysis. We hope to see your involvement!

When is the competition?

The official start date is February 17 at 12 PM PST. The official deadline for submissions is March 2 at 12 PM PST. Anyone can join in at any point during the competition.

Can I join as an individual or a team?

Both! We expect mostly teams, but individuals can join as well.

What is the objective?

Find a candidate drug (ligand) with a high binding affinity with the COVID-2019 main protease. A few studies have shown that HIV antivirals offer promising results, but this is still an open field of discovery. Use machine learning to identify a potential candidate, then use docking software to compute the binding affinity between it and the main protease. Write a report that describes your candidate molecule, the process you used to generate/validate it, and results in detail in the form of a jupyter notebook.

What are the prizes?

1st place: $1000 cash + $500 JetML cloud Credits

2nd place: $1000 JetML cloud credits

3rd place: $1000 JetML cloud credits

What are the eligibility requirements?

None! Anyone, in any country, of any age can participate.

What are the judging criteria?

We are judging based on reproducibility, documentation quality, and the antiviral feasibility of your candidate molecule

Our Services

We understand that health data is multifaceted, complex, and hard to organize. We design algorithms aimed to make accurate predictions using any amount of biomarkers.

Medical Imaging Classification

Computer Vision technology has seen incredible advances in the past few years. We leverage the latest tools to create assistive diagnostic tools for all departments, from Cardiology to Orthopedics.

Electronic Health Record Mining

We respect the privacy of all Patient data. As such, we use the latest in secure, privacy preserving tools to mine text data in order to create analytics dashboards, dialogue systems, & more.

Drug Discovery

In just the past few years, Machine Learning has been shown to be able to vastly accelerate the virtual screening process. We help assist in the design of small molecule drugs, as well as gene & cell therapies.

Robotic Surgery

Using a combination of Computer Vision & Control Theory, we design software for robotic surgery equipment like the Da Vinci to help automate crucial tasks for surgeons..
